WORKinn opened a new edition this afternoon, within the framework of +INDUSTRY. The event was presided over by Alfonso Gurpegui, Deputy Minister of Employment and Inclusion of the Basque Government, and Teresa Laespada, Provincial Deputy for Employment, Social Cohesion and Equality of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.

In his speech, Gurpegui emphasized the importance of employment as a driver of social cohesion and a tool for building the future. “Employment is an essential tool for building a fairer and more cohesive society,” he stated. He also highlighted the relevance of forums like WORKinn in achieving these goals, as a meeting point between people and companies building the future.

For her part, Teresa Laespada reaffirmed the key role of industry as an economic driver in Bizkaia. “Industry in Bizkaia is a key element for consolidating our economic growth in terms of sustainability. That’s why our responsibility as public managers is to offer an economic, social and political environment that once again positions industry as Bizkaia’s economic engine and a real source of quality employment,” she said.

Both agreed on the challenge posed by the low presence of women in the industrial sector, which they identified as one of the most pressing issues in today’s evolving labor landscape.

They were accompanied by Francisco Pedraza, Director General of Lanbide; Gloria Múgica, Managing Director of DEMA; María Ruiz-Lopetedi, Deputy Director General of AFM Cluster; Xabier Ortueta, Director General of AFM Cluster; Mari Carmen Gorostiza, Business Unit Director for Industry, Energy and ICT at BEC; and Xabier Basañez, Director General of BEC, among other officials.

More than twenty companies and organizations are presenting around 400 job opportunities these days, offering first-hand information about their recruitment processes and the most in-demand professional profiles in the industrial sector.

WORKinn Talent Hub takes place in parallel with six specialized trade shows –Addit3D, BeDigital, Maintenance, Pumps & Valves, Subcontratación, and weAR– all under the umbrella of +INDUSTRY, creating an ideal environment for connecting businesses and professionals, with real opportunities for employment and career development.
